The third China Frontiers of Engineering Symposium for Junior Engineers was hosted by Chinese Academy of Engineering on November 30, 2012 in Beijing. It brought together 34 outstanding early-career engineers to discuss leading-edge research and technical work across a variety of engineering fields such as nanomaterials, IOT, BioMEMS, solar energy etc. Our company’s deputy general manager Dr. Chen Lawson, expert in the field of composite electrical contact materials was invited to attend this grand gathering and to give a special report on

“Realization of Novel of Ag/SnO₂ Electrical Contact Material with Microscopic Fiber-like Structure”.

Dr. Chen Lawson was recognized as national exemplary scientific and technological worker of the year 2011. He was currently the deputy general manager and chief technology officer in Wenzhou Hongfeng Electrical Alloy Co., Ltd. He holds current posts as councilor of Chinese Society for Composite Materials, member of National Electrical Alloy Industrial Standardization Committee, and deputy director and editorial board member for professional periodical “Electrical Engineering Materials”. He has published more than 10 papers on composite electrical contact

materials at both domestic and international academic conferences.

This symposium, as CAE President Zhou Ji pointed out, served as a cooperation platform for engineers from companies, universities, and government to introduce their areas of engineering research and technical work, thererby facilitating cross-disciplinary exchange and promote the transfer of new techniques and approaches across fields in order to sustain and build China innovative capacity.
